E-Visits at Rush are an easy way to connect to a health care provider online when you need care for common conditions. With an E-Visit, you’ll receive an online diagnosis and treatment plan from a Rush provider. If you need prescriptions, they’ll be sent directly to your pharmacy.
How E-Visits work:
Log in to MyChart or register for a MyChart account if you don’t have one already.
Submit a secure online questionnaire about your condition and medical history.
- Within one hour of your virtual visit, you'll receive a MyChart message with your online diagnosis and a treatment plan created by a Rush provider.
Please note: if you make your request after our hours of operation, you’ll receive a response the next business day.

E-Visits cost $30. You may pay with a credit or debit card, or with a health savings account. Rush does not bill insurance for E-Visits.
E-Visits at Rush are available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends. If you complete an E-Visit questionnaire outside these hours or on certain holidays, you will receive a response within an hour after E-Visit services at Rush begin again.
Virtual visits are not for emergencies. If you have an urgent medical need, call 911 — or visit your nearest emergency department or urgent care facility.
All questionnaires are reviewed by Rush providers — doctors or advanced practice providers. The name of the provider who reviews your E-Visit will be listed on your online diagnosis and treatment plan.
You’ll be treated by the Rush provider who is available at the moment you need care. Your regular primary care provider will have access to your diagnosis and treatment plan in your medical record.
Depending on how you respond to certain questions about your condition, you may be advised to seek in-person care. Additionally, if you complete and submit your E-Visit but your provider deems your condition inappropriate for a virtual visit, they’ll let you know via a MyChart message and you’ll receive a call within two business days to assist you in setting up an appointment.
