What is Telehealth?
Telehealth services, also known as telemedicine or virtual care, are digital options for getting care from a doctor from home. They allow you to connect with your health care providers without being present in person. Telehealth services include care options such as video or phone appointments and online questionnaires.
What Telehealth or Virtual Care Services Are Available at Rush?
On-demand online treatment allows you to get fast, convenient care from home without an appointment. Consult with a virtual provider on more than 20 symptoms, including COVID-19 concerns, cold/flu, urinary tract infection (UTI), minor injuries and more.
Rush On Demand telemedicine services are available to new and existing patients. These virtual doctor visits are covered by insurance but are also available at an affordable cost for patients without insurance. During your telemedicine visit, you'll get a treatment plan from a Rush provider, and they'll be able to prescribe appropriate tests or prescriptions.
We have two options for on-demand telehealth:
On-demand video visits: Connect with a provider over video chat within 20 minutes. In addition to virtual consultation for common conditions like the flu or COVID-19, you can also get coping and anxiety support or a return-to-work note through on-demand video visits.
E-Visits: Fill out an online questionnaire and a provider will respond to you with a treatment plan within the hour. E-Visits are great for when you need fast, easy care for simple, specific conditions like seasonal allergies or UTI.
Scheduled Video Visits
Rush also offers telemedicine options for meeting with specific providers, including both primary care and specialist providers. Most doctors at Rush now offer telemedicine via video. During a scheduled video visit, you'll have a one-on-one video conference with your specific provider.
Depending on the type of appointment, both new and existing patients are eligible for video visits, and visits are covered by insurance. During a telemedicine appointment, your provider can prescribe medicine and tests, if needed. To make a telehealth appointment, you can schedule online or call (888) 352-RUSH (7874). You can also contact your provider directly.
Telehealth for Kids
Whether your child needs a scheduled video visit follow-up with a Rush specialist or needs quick, convenient care for conditions such as rash, red eye or COVID-19 concerns, Rush also has telemedicine options for children. We now offer on-demand video visits, E-Visits and scheduled video visits for kids.
How Does Telehealth Work?
Telemedicine at Rush is available through the My Rush app. Download the My Rush app from the App Store or Google Play. Log in using your MyChart credentials, or create an account for free.
Through the app, you'll be able to connect to your scheduled video visit or access on-demand video visits and E-Visits through the virtual care menu.
Why Choose Telehealth Services at Rush?
Quality: No matter which telehealth services you use at Rush, you can expect safe, quality care from the same Rush providers who would treat you in person. And if for some reason your visit isn't appropriate for telemedicine, or if you require follow up, we can connect you to quality, in-person care.
Safety: Rush is taking every precaution to make our locations safe for care during COVID-19. Offering visits over video keeps you safely at home and helps reduce traffic in our physical locations.
Convenience: Telehealth options let you connect to Rush providers without leaving home. Reduce your travel and wait times. In many cases, virtual visits offer more flexibility than in-person care.
