In 1998 cancer changed Steve Schlegel’s life. He lost his daughter Anne, following a year-long battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Seeking to honor her memory and passion for swimming, Schlegel became involved with Swim Across America – Chicago and has continued participating for the past 24 years.
