Wrapped with Care: Rush Community Holiday Program

Formerly known as Adopt-a-Family

Rush Wrapped with Care Applications Are Now Open

How the program works:

  • You decide how many households you would like to support during the holidays. Households range in size from a single-person home to families of 10.
  • Once confirmed, you will receive the household's wish list, profile and program guidelines via email.
  • Gifts must be delivered to the Rush University Medical Center campus (First-floor Atrium) or Rush Oak Park Hospital (Centennial Conference Room) during distribution days, Dec. 8-10, 2026. Gift delivery details will be provided with your household profile.
  • The program closes on Dec. 8, 2026, or when all households have been matched with donors.

Support a family

Are you a Rush employee?

We are committed to serving Rush employees, recognizing them as our first community. Rush employees who are experiencing hardship during the holiday season can apply to receive support. We will be supporting the first 75 Rush families who apply. Rush families are permitted to apply for support once every two years.

To learn more about the Wrapped with Care Community Holiday program and how to apply, please contact the Office of Community Health Equity and Engagement at AAF@rush.edu.

Support families another way

Your ongoing monetary support is greatly appreciated. A little goes a long way and your gifts help us continue to make an impact in the neighborhoods we serve. Donations will also benefit families who are not directly sponsored for the holidays.

About Wrapped with Care

As a cornerstone of community engagement, Rush is deeply committed to fostering health and economic prosperity for our West Side neighborhoods. To help ensure that the holiday season brings joy to everyone, the Office of Community Health Equity and Engagement leads the Wrapped with Care Community Holiday program formerly known as Adopt-a-Family. This initiative connects Rush employees and partner organizations with families facing financial challenges through collaborations with nonprofits, service agencies, and churches.

Many of the families supported by Wrapped with Care live well below 200% of the federal poverty line, and some are experiencing homelessness. By participating in this program, we offer meaningful support and essential resources to help alleviate hardships during the holiday season.
