Social Work and Community Health Resources

Social Work and Community Health provides a wealth of resources and services, including workshops and classes, a membership program devoted to health and aging, and Medicare-related counseling.

Evidence-based workshops, classes and lectures

Strategies that help with the prevention of chronic and acute health conditions and the improvement of health status are important to individuals of all ages. Social Work and Community Health health promotion and disease prevention programs provide a variety of opportunities to learn about prevention activities that could improve your health and reduce or eliminate risks factors that can lead to disease or disability. Rush Generations

Rush Generations is a health promotion membership program for adults and caregivers, that gives you access to a wealth of information and resources geared toward health and aging. We offer lectures by physicians and other experts at Rush, workshops on managing your health, fitness and computer classes, and many other tools for enhancing your health and vitality.

Resource centers

The Tower Resource Center and Waud Resource Center in the Johnston R. Bowman building offer a range of materials and services to patients, families, friends and community members. 

Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP)

SHIP is a free, unbiased counseling service for people on Medicare and their caregivers to understand their insurance options. To meet with a SHIP counselor, please call (800) 757-0202.
