Because hormones regulate many bodily functions, a hormone imbalance can have wide-reaching effects on your body. Doctors in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism collaborate with other specialists to manage your condition and the complications that may arise.

Endocrinologists at Rush offer specialized care for patients with a wide range of metabolic conditions. These include the following:

  • Diabetes: The division offers follow-up care after organ transplantation and is home to a diabetes center that has been recognized for the excellence of its patient education program.
  • Osteoporosis: The endocrinology team at Rush includes experts on the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
  • Thyroid cancer and other tumors of the endocrine system: Through Rush's multidisciplinary endocrine cancer program, patients have access to multiple specialists working together to create individualized treatment plans for people with cancerous and noncancerous endocrine tumors.

Additionally, Rush is proud to offer services for gender-affirming care, which includes hormone therapies to transition into the identified gender.
