Sharing healing massage therapy with Waterford Place participants
Wren Patel, massage therapist

Working with people with cancer is a calling for Wren Patel. A licensed massage therapist, she enjoys sharing the gift of massage with participants at Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center, where she provides oncology massage therapy.

“Specialized oncology massage therapy is shown to reduce pain and anxiety, help with fatigue and insomnia and much more,” she says. “I believe this is an essential therapy for anyone with cancer or going through treatment.”

Patel knows how healing massage therapy can be: She has seen it help her husband and others close to her as they managed side effects from cancer and treatment.

In addition to her work as a massage therapist, Patel is a registered nurse and certified yoga teacher. She has a private practice where she sees clients for massage, bodywork and holistic women’s health coaching. She is also an Ayurvedic health coach, using 5,000-year-old Indian wellness principles to help clients improve overall health.

“I wish I had known about Waterford Place when my husband was going through his cancer treatment because it’s such an amazing resource with so many valuable services,” she says. “I’m so honored to serve our participants.  It’s truly the best feeling to be able to provide this care. I’m humbled and honored to do this work.”
