State-of-the-art care by surgeons who change lives
Plastic and reconstructive surgeons at Rush change lives by restoring form, function and quality of life. They treat everyone from infants to adults, and they're experts in every area of the body from head to toe. Our surgeons combine years of experience with the latest surgical innovations to treat common conditions, the most complex cases and everything in between. And they collaborate closely with Rush experts in orthopedics, the Rush University Cancer Center, the Rush Center for Weight Loss and Lifestyle Medicine and other departments.
Rush plastic and reconstructive surgeons have expertise in all areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery, including facial reconstruction, breast reconstruction, hand and limb reconstruction, and repair of conditions present at birth (e.g., cleft lip and palate). We also offer a full range of cosmetic surgery services — from facial rejuvenation to body contouring — that can help you look and feel your best.
Excellence in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Personalized care from a collaborative team
You’ll receive a thorough evaluation by our expert team and a comprehensive treatment plan created just for you. And we'll work closely with your other doctors to coordinate treatment: At Rush, we're all one team.
Pioneering advances in care
Members of the Rush Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team are leading research into new treatments, such as ways to regrow tissue and bone — and Amir Dorafshar, MD, chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, was the lead surgeon on one of the most complex facial transplants ever performed.
The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team's world-renowned physicians have particular expertise in areas that include facial reconstruction, pediatric plastic surgery, breast reconstruction and lymphedema surgery, gender affirmation surgery, hand surgery and lower extremity reconstruction.
They perform surgeries that few others in the Chicago region are able to offer, such as procedures to relieve facial pain, microvascular surgeries for facial reconstruction after cancer treatment, and complex cranioplasties.
Appointments at your convenience
Our doctors see patients at multiple locations in Chicago, as well as Oak Park and Oak Brook, with hours that accommodate your busy schedule.
Educating the next generation of surgeons
Our surgeons are also faculty members at Rush University, where they train medical students and residents in the complexities of surgery and conduct leading-edge research into new tools, technologies and techniques.
"We pride ourselves on providing individualized, patient-centered care. In everything we do, we treat patients with the utmost compassion and care."
