The Neuromuscular Disease Program at Rush provides comprehensive diagnosis of and care for diseases that affect the function of your nerves and/or muscles. These diseases include the following:

The neuromuscular disease team at Rush is skilled at identifying these diseases, even in their earliest stages. To help diagnose these diseases, the team performs electrodiagnostic nerve conduction and electromyography studies.

In addition, our program's expert physicians work closely with other specialists to offer you the best possible treatment for these often debilitating conditions.

Rush is an affiliate of the Greater Chicago Chapter of the ALS Association. Affiliate centers provide evidence-based, multidisciplinary amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) care, services and resources in a supportive atmosphere with an emphasis on hope and quality of life. They also meet the ALS Association's clinical care and treatment standards, which are based on the American Academy of Neurology Practice Parameters.
