The Neuromuscular Disease Program at Rush provides comprehensive diagnosis of and care for diseases that affect the function of your nerves and/or muscles. These diseases include the following:
- Entrapment neuropathy (such as carpal tunnel syndrome)
- Diabetic neuropathy
- Neuropathy from other causes
- Myasthenia gravis
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Muscular dystrophy
The neuromuscular team at Rush is skilled at identifying these diseases, even in their early stages. To help diagnose these diseases, the program's electromyography laboratory performs electrodiagnostic nerve conduction and electromyography studies.
In addition, our program's expert neuromuscular physicians work closely with other specialists to offer you the best possible treatment for these often debilitating conditions.
We welcome those seeking second opinions.
