The Rush Memory Clinic offers patients a thorough neurological and psychological evaluation for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
Although the Memory Clinic's team of geriatricians, neurologists, neuropsychologists and advanced practice nurses does not offer primary care, the staff encourages close communication with your primary care provider.
The Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center also works closely with families to guide them in their decisions about the care of loved ones with dementia, including decisions about care in the home and other living arrangements.
An evaluation lasts approximately two hours and consists of a standardized battery of cognitive tests as well as a consultation with a physician who specializes in diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive disorders.
Referrals are not needed from your primary care provider, although you will need prior approval if you are enrolled in a health maintenance organization (HMO) or other insurance plan.
