For the fourth consecutive year, RUSH Copley’s Physical Rehabilitation Center is recognized in Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc, the global market research and consumer data firm.

The list highlights the nation’s top inpatient physical rehabilitation facilities based on quality of care, quality of service, quality of follow-up care, accommodation and amenities, and accreditation.

RUSH Copley’s Inpatient Rehab Center is ranked third in Illinois.

“We are honored to be recognized again this year in Newsweek’s list of Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers,” said John Diederich, president and CEO of RUSH Copley Medical Center. “This recognition is evidence of our team’s dedication to quality care and outcomes of our physical rehabilitation patients.”

RUSH Copley offers both inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation. The inpatient center features a therapy gym designed to maximize patients’ potential as they return to independence. An automobile and other true-to-life features replicate daily activities and allow patients to engage in tasks that promote function and independence. The center also uses virtual reality augmented therapy systems for individuals with physical limitations; cognitive software that provides exercises to enhance attention, reasoning, memory and cognitive processing speed; and VitalStim therapy which uses electrical stimulation to aid in muscle strengthening to improve swallowing for those with swallowing dysfunction.

The outpatient physical rehabilitation center provides physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy as part of a robust continuum of rehabilitative care. Dedicated clinicians address many areas, including strength, balance and limited motion. Specialized equipment such as computerized dynamic posturography aids in addressing concussion management and in assessing and treating patients experiencing vestibular or balance problems. Alter G facilitates body weight supported therapy, and LSVT BIG and LOUD training helps patients with Parkinson’s disease. The outpatient center also provides sports therapy, spine rehabilitation and other types of therapy.

RUSH Copley’s physical rehabilitation program is also accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, which establishes nationally recognized standards of quality.

The Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2023 ranking features the top 280 centers nationwide.
