How it works

Get care for your child from home. Save your child a trip to the pediatrician’s office by connecting to a Rush provider over video chat. Video visits are fast, easy and convenient.

  • Check in for a video visit and get a notification within 20 minutes that a pediatric provider is ready to connect.

  • Chat one-on-one with a live Rush pediatric provider. If your child needs prescriptions, they’ll be sent to your pharmacy of choice.

Video visits are available to children of all ages. For the best possible experience, access video visits on the My Rush app, available on the App Store and Google Play.

Virtual visits are not for emergencies. If you have an urgent medical need, call 911 — or visit your nearest emergency department or urgent care facility.

If you need treatment for a condition other than these, you can make an appointment. E-Visits for children are also available for care via secure questionnaire.

Video visit hours

Video visits are available 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. On-demand video visits will be closed on Labor Day. Normal service will resume on Tuesday, 9/8. 


To promote safety and wellness in our community, we will submit claims for video visits directly to your insurance carrier and you will not need to pay an upfront fee for your child’s visit. If we do not have your child’s insurance on file or if you do not currently have coverage, we may follow up with you after your visit. In some instances, copays or co-insurance may apply. The standard patient out of pocket expense for a video visit is $49 or less.

Start your child’s virtual visit

Take the following steps to get started with your video visit:

  1. Open or download the My Rush app, available on the App Store and Google Play. If you already have the app, please verify that you are on the latest version. Make sure you or your child are logged into your child’s account.

  2. Log on to your child’s MyChart account. If you haven’t signed your child up for MyChart, free access to your child’s online health record, you’ll need to do that first. Sign up for MyChart now or in the My Rush app.

  3. Select On-Demand Video Visits from the virtual care menu.

  4. Enter information about your child’s condition and complete the check-in process.

  5. Within 20 minutes, a prompt will notify you that a pediatric Rush provider is ready to connect.

  6. Join the video chat on your smartphone. Your child must be present for the visit.
