How women's health virtual care works

  • 1. Schedule your appointment

Our Rush women's health specialists work with common issues, including heart health, anxiety, urinary tract infections and skin care — with more services coming soon. We may ask some questions about your health as part of the scheduling process. Answer these questions, then select an available appointment time. That’s it!

  • 2. Log on at your appointment time

Open MyChart or the My Rush app. You will get a prompt that your provider is ready to connect. Join the video chat on your smartphone or tablet.

  • 3. Get the help you need

Our Rush experts will provide a personalized care plan. They can write or refill prescriptions, sent to the pharmacy of your choice so you can feel better fast. They can also connect you with any follow-up care you may need.

FAQs

Why is heart care important for women?

Heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of American women. And many early-warning signs of heart disease, such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol, have no symptoms. These "silent killers" can damage your heart and circulatory system before you know you have a problem.

One in four women have heart disease. If you’re one of them, our Rush specialists can see you today or tomorrow to answer your questions and help you stay healthy. Make an appointment now.

Can I get help for sexual health through virtual care?

Yes. Our Rush providers can see you via video chat today or tomorrow for conditions such as:

  • Vaginal infection
  • Birth control (including emergency birth control)
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Vaginal irritation

Virtual visits allow you to talk to a Rush expert in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Can I get a prescription filled through a virtual visit?

Yes. Whether you need a new prescription or a refill, we can send it to the pharmacy of your choice. This includes hormonal birth control.

How can I pay for my visit?

Rush makes it easy to pay for your On Demand visits.

If you have insurance with a participating plan, just confirm your insurance information when you schedule your visit and you will not need to pay an upfront fee today for your visit. We will submit a claim to your insurance provider after your visit and you will be responsible for any co-pays or coinsurance that may apply, as determined by your plan. More information on how Rush processes insurance is available on the insurance page. Insurance coverage for telehealth visits can vary. For questions about your coverage, contact your insurance provider.

If we do not have your insurance on file, if you do not currently have insurance coverage, or if you have coverage but elect to pay for this service out-of-pocket, you will pay $99 in advance of receiving this service.

By electing to pay out-of-pocket, you understand that by making this election you waive your right to subsequently bill a health plan for the item(s) and/or service(s) you are receiving today. You acknowledge and agree that you will pay directly for any items and/or services provided to you and Rush will not bill any other third party, including any federal or state health care program, for such items and/or services. By proceeding, you confirm that you have read and understand the statement about an election for restriction of disclosure of your personal information to your health plan for a service or item for which you have paid out-of-pocket and in full.
