Study of Lipoprotein (a) Levels in Patients with Cardiovascular Disease
Lipoprotein (a) is now recognized as a causal risk factor for coronary artery disease, stroke, and peripheral artery disease. The purpose of this study is to improve knowledge regarding the epidemiology of Lipoprotein(a) in patients with established cardiovascular disease (CVD). Relevant demographic data, medical history, and laboratory values for LDL-cholesterol and Lp(a) will be collected retrospectively. In the event that laboratory data is not available blood sampling will be performed.
In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:
- Are between 18 and 80 years of age.
Have established cardiovascular disease (CVD) defined as one of the following:
- Have a history of a myocardial infarction (MI).
- Have a history of ischemic stroke.
- Have symptomatic PAD.
You will be excluded from the study if any of the following criteria apply to you:
- Are enrolled in a clinical study with investigational drugs.
