Keeping Your Fitness Safe

Learn how Rush Copley Healthplex is keeping your fitness safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the health and safety of our members and staff, our safety measures include:

Face Masks
Everyone must wear a mask covering both mouth and nose when inside the Healthplex at all times. Masks may be removed only when showering or inside the pools. Social distancing of six feet or more from others should be maintained at all times.

Temperature Monitoring  
All staff and members will be required to have their temperature taken and be screened for COVID symptoms. If staff or member has a temperature over 100.0 degrees, they will not be permitted to enter the club or permitted to participate in club activities.

Enhanced Cleaning
Enhanced and increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of all high touch areas. With disinfectants approved by the Centers for Disease Control, each piece of equipment will be cleaned before and after use.

Group Fitness Classes - Fusion Schedule
In-person fitness classes are back in February. We have created a fusion schedule which will includes a combination of virtual and in-person classes. Fusion-style classes will be in the studio with the instructor as the class is being streamed on the virtual platform. Attendance at all in-person classes will be limited to a maximum capacity based on where the class is held and reservations will be required.

  • Select the “Access My Account” button and proceed to set up your account. If the system does not recognize you, please call us to update your information or visit the club to walk through a personalized tutorial.
  • Click the “Group Activities” option and register for your classes. You may register up to one week in advance.

Classes for active all access members are free of charge. Class fees will apply for tennis members, members on current freeze and non-members.

Swim and Tennis Programs
Group classes for swim and tennis resume February 1. Private personal training, swim and tennis lessons are still available.

Social Distancing
All staff and members are required to practice social distancing of 6 to 10 feet or greater at all times, including during personal training and tennis lessons.

Locker Rooms
Family, boys and girls locker rooms are available for changing only; showers are not open. Mens and womens locker rooms are open for showers and changing. Sauna, steam room, whirlpool and cold plunge pools remain closed, as well as massage services.

Monitoring will be in place to ensure that the fitness center remains at or below capacity limits. Reservations are required for pool usage, tennis court rental, and all fitness classes both land and aquatic classes.

Additional Measures


Safe Monitoring

  • Masks are required to be worn by all staff and visitors when not in the pool.
  • Parents may drop their children off and pick them up at the pool deck.
  • One parent may observe class on the last day of the session.
  • One parent may observe during private swim lessons.
  • Parents with children not enrolled in an aquatic class which is being held at the time when they are present must exit the pool deck.
  • All swim participants will enter/exit pool area through the Family Locker room entrance.


  • Class sizes are limited and first come first served.
  • Please allow 10 minutes prior to class start times.
  • Class start times are staggered to allow for sanitation of all equipment by our team before and after each use.
  • Any equipment used in the pool must be checked in and out at the attendant’s station located on the pool deck and is sanitized after each use.
  • Water fountains are not available for use and therefore we ask that you bring a water bottle.
  • Whirlpool, sauna, steam room and cold plunge pool are not available for use at this time.

Social Distancing

  • Lap swimmers: 1 per lane
  • Private swim lessons are available at certain times of the day while observing appropriate social distancing.

Safe Monitoring

  • Children and staff will be required to wear face masks and maintain social distance of at least 6 feet when possible.
  • Frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing will be practiced throughout the day.
  • A daily health screening and temperature check will take for children and staff upon arrival.


  • Cleaning and disinfecting of all areas is done frequently throughout the day per CDC guidelines.
  • Hand sanitizer is available.
  • Designated restrooms, cleaned and sanitized every hour, are available for hand washing.
  • Water fountains are not available for use. Please bring a water bottle for you child.
  • Objects may be shared on a minimum basis and are disinfected before and after each use.
  • Children's personal belongings are kept in a designated area outside of Kids Active Club.

Group Size and Staffing

  • Groups are kept to a maximum of 10 children per day with 1 to 2 staff members as necessary.

Safe monitoring

  • Staff and  Members are required to wear masks at all times, including during exercise, covering both mouth and nose.
  • We welcome everyone to come to the club unless you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have recently been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • All who enter the facility, including staff will complete a temperature check and health screening each time they visit.


  • Entry areas are left open to minimize touch points.
  • We have deployed more sanitizing stations and many more hand sanitizers per club.
  • Additional disinfecting wipes have been added for enhanced cleaning procedures.
  • We ask that members be courteous and wipe down equipment both before and after use.
  • Our fitness team is spot treating equipment after each use and will conduct a more widespread sanitation process mid-day.
  • High-touch points and items with porous surfaces will be eliminated and/or sanitized regularly.
  • Water fountains and towels are not available for use and therefore we ask that you bring your own.

Social Distancing

  • Fitness equipment has been appropriately spaced for social distancing.
  • Personal training is available in designated areas while observing appropriate distancing protocols.
  • Equipment is not shared by participants.

Safe monitoring/Social distancing

  • For the safety of both Massage Therapist and guest, we require both individuals to wear masks for the entire duration of the massage.
  • We welcome everyone except those who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or who have recently been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. 
  • All who enter the facility, including staff, will complete a temperature check each time they visit. Should the temperature be at or above 100.0, admittance to the Healthplex will not be permitted.
  • Locker room seating has been appropriately spaced or removed for social distancing.


  • Rooms are fully sanitized for all high-touch areas, and new linens will be prepared prior to each massage.
  • Disinfectants registered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be used to disinfect surfaces that may become contaminated through touch.
  • Items which may be difficult to keep clean have been removed from the rooms.
  • Hand sanitizer is available in each room.
  • Water fountains are not be available for use. Please bring your own drink.
  • Rooms are ventilated with new HEPA air filtration systems.
  • Appointments are scheduled with 15-30 minutes between to allow for proper sanitation and ventilation.

How to prepare

  • Schedule your massage by calling (630) 978-6280.
  • Please arrive no less than 5 minutes prior to your appointment.
  • We ask that guests shower prior to the service.
  • Please wear your mask while in the facility – before, during and after your massage.
  • Please limit conversations to communication about pressure, warmth and comfort while in the enclosed space of the session room to minimize respiratory droplets which can be dispersed when people talk. 
  • Should you need to reschedule, please call the Healthplex to do so. Cancellations less than 24 hours prior to the appointment will result in a $30 late cancel fee.

Safe monitoring

  • Temperature taken prior to programs and masks must be worn at all times, even while on court.
  • Parents may watch their child during private tennis lesson but must wear a mask and be courtside.The viewing mezzanine will be closed.
  • Tournaments are postponed until the USTA resumes sanctioning.


  • Instructors maintain their own ball cart and teaching equipment.
  • Before each lesson, instructors sanitize all hoppers, tubes, carts etc. Items are also cleaned at the end of the day and before opening the next day. Gloves are provided if needed.
  • Participants are to bring water and towel as they will not be available indoors or outdoors.
  • Sanitizer stations are available at all touch points throughout the facilities.
  • Additional products for sanitation are available at each teaching cart.
  • Balls, carts and hoppers are either be sanitized between lessons or rotated out of use until sanitized.
  • Entry areas are left open to minimize touch points.
  • Students that want to practice feature serving need to bring two cans of balls that only they handle for serving

Social Distancing

  • Instructor to student ratios 4:1.
  • Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to scheduled lesson/clinic.
  • Programs held in same areas have a 15 minute time block between.
