RUSH Copley Healthplex Aquatics

Experience our two luxurious pools with excellent programs and services for the whole family. We offer a range of fitness classes — from high intensity classes such as H2O Combo and Aqua Boot Camp, to Ageless Aqua and Arthritis Plus, there’s a class for anyone looking for an exhilarating workout. Our outstanding Learn to Swim program engages infants as young as 6 months to adults in swim lessons to feel confident and safe around the water, and the program is available for members and nonmembers. Whether you are a beginner or someone who wants to improve your strokes, we have a group class or private lesson for you. Our certified staff, wide variety of classes, and beautiful pools offer a refreshing experience for people of all ages.

Aqua Adult Fitness Classes

For an exhilarating workout, we offer a range of fitness classes.

Pre/Post Natal Aqua

This class includes a variety of exercises designed specifically to meet the needs of new and expectant mothers. This class will include low-impact aerobics, moderate strength training, core strengthening and stretching. All pre and post-natal women must provide written clearance from their provider to participate. 7-week program.

Adult Swim Lessons

RUSH Copley Healthplex offers beginner and intermediate swim classes for adults.

Aqua Kids Learn to Swim

RUSH Copley Healthplex's Learn to Swim program is designed for child of all ages and allows swimmers to progress at their own pace. Lessons take place in our lap pool or warm therapy pool.

Learn to Swim Levels

  • Water Babies (6 months to 2 years with parent): Focus is on water adjustment, safety skills and a great time to bond with your child. One parent per child per day may participate.
  • Parent-Toddler (2 to 3 1/2 years with parent):Children will learn exploration and basic propulsion skills through water play. A great time to bond with your child. One parent per child per day may participate.
  • Preschool 1 (3 1/2 to 6 years): Students will explore the water and learn to be comfortable in aquatic environments. They will learn the basic ideas of floating and airway control. 
  • Preschool 2 (3 1/2 to 6 years): Students will perfect their front and back glides and add arm paddles and kicks with the glides. Rolling and treading water will be introduced.
  • Preschool 3 (3 1/2 to 6 years): Students will coordinate the front and back crawl strokes. They will learn the elementary backstroke and treading water. Safety skills will be reinforced.
  • Level 1 (Youth, 7 to 12 years, and Teen, 13 to 17 years): Students will explore the water and learn to be comfortable in aquatic environments. They will learn front and back floats, glides and breath control. Prerequisite: Developmentally ready to participate without a parent present.
  • Level 2 (Youth, 7 to 12 years, and Teen, 13 to 17 years): Students will learn front and back crawl while becoming more confident in the water. They will learn to swim 10 yards of front crawl with rolling for air and treading water will be introduced. Prerequisite: Submerge completely and blow bubbles. Float on front and back by themselves.
  • Level 3 (Youth, 7 to 12 years, and Teen, 13 to 17 years): Students will coordinate the front and back crawl strokes and will learn the elementary backstroke and treading water. Safety skills will be reinforced. Prerequisite: Swim 10 yards on front rolling to back for air when needed and swim confidently on back using arms and legs to propel.
  • Level 4 (Youth, 7 to 12 years, and Teen, 13 to 17 years): Students will build and improve on the front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke. They will be introduced to the breaststroke and sidestroke. Prerequisite: Swim front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke for 25 yards each and tread water for 30 seconds. 
  • Level 5 (7 to 12 years): Students will refine and improve endurance in the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke. They will learn proper timing and technique for breaststroke and butterfly. Prerequisite: Swim 50 yards of front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke, as well as tread water for 2 minutes.
  • Level 6 (7 to 12 years): Students will continue to refine all strokes to perform with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness. They will learn flip turns and the fundamentals of personal water safety. Prerequisite: Swim all strokes well for 50 yards and tread water for 3 minutes.
  • Junior Stroke (9 to 17 years): Students will learn advanced swimming techniques making them more efficient and faster at the competitive strokes. This class is intended to help them prepare for higher levels of competitive swimming. Prerequisite: Swim a continuous 500 freestyle and maintain proper technique and timing for 50 yards of butterfly and breaststroke.
Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons

Family Open Swim

Hours for Family Swim

Monday: 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday: 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday: 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Thursday: 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 1:30 to 4 p.m.
There is no Family Swim on Friday.

Exclusive for members with the option to bring a guest. Children under the age of 2 are free if the guardian is a member, guests ages 12 and under are $10 each and guests 13 years or older are $20 each. Registration is required.

American Red Cross CPR

CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
Designed and taught to satisfy OSHA-mandated job requirements. This in-person class gives you personalized instruction to respond to cardiac emergencies for adults, children and infants.

Lifeguard Training

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training pograms include the full course or recertification.
