A recent survey of peers and patients by Newsweek ranked Rush University Medical Center No. 24 among hospitals in the United States.

Newsweek calls its rankings an “authoritative list” as assessed by a team of researchers and experts who “are keenly aware of what's going on in hospitals around the globe.”

In its second year, Newsweek’s “World’s Best Hospitals” rankings compare more than 280 hospitals around the globe. Not only was Rush numerically ranked in the top 25, it has also earned the No. 2 spot in Illinois.

The rankings are based on recommendations from medical professionals, results from patient surveys and key medical performance indicators.

Developed in partnership with global data research company Statista Inc., Newsweek analyzed quality and patient satisfaction information from 21 different countries, including the United States, Canada, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Israel, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, India, Thailand, Australia and Brazil.
