RUSH University Earns High Marks in Best Graduate School Rankings

Programs across all colleges recognized in latest U.S. News & World Report rankings

RUSH University has again been recognized as a top institution in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools rankings. The rankings highlighted a variety of programs across the university’s colleges. Most notably, RUSH College of Nursing has continued to be seen as a leader after being ranked as one of the top nursing schools in the country. 

“RUSH University continues to provide a highly sought-after learning environment for our students, and I am extremely proud of what they have achieved,” says Robert S.D. Higgins, MD, president, RUSH University. “I want to thank Dr. Larry Goodman, Dr. Christine Kennedy and all of our leaders at the university who have established a standard of excellence in education in the health sciences.” 

RUSH College of Nursing again attained impressive rankings, further solidifying its renowned status for delivering exceptional nursing education on a national scale. All five ranked Doctor of Nursing Practice tracks are among the top three nationwide in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Graduate Schools rankings released on April 9. RUSH also ranks No. 1 among nursing programs in Illinois. 

“We are very proud to have the strengths of our doctoral tracks recognized once again by U.S. News & World Report,” says Christine Kennedy, PhD, RN, the John L. and Helen Kellogg Dean, College of Nursing and interim provost for RUSH University. “These strong rankings demonstrate our commitment to academic excellence in the preparation of the next generation of nursing leaders who will advance health care.”

The College of Nursing also ranked No. 6 in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree category. 

College of Health Sciences 

Three College of Health Sciences disciplines were recently ranked by U.S. News this year:

“Everyone at CHS is excited and proud to see our programs gain recognition for providing an excellent education to RUSH University students,” says Jason Turner, PhD, MAE, interim dean, College of Health Sciences. “Our goal is always to foster a learning environment where the next generation of health care professionals can succeed and these rankings help affirm that commitment.”
