RUSH University Celebrates 50 Years at All Alumni Weekend

A variety of 50th anniversary themed events will be held during the celebratory weekend
RUSH University All Alumni Weekend

RUSH University is celebrating 50 years of excellence and will host a series of 50th anniversary themed events during its All Alumni Weekend on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22. All Alumni Weekend is part of a year-long celebration at RUSH, which will continue through the spring of 2023.

Friday and Saturday’s events will give alumni the opportunity to connect with RUSH University leaders, fellow classmates, current and former faculty, students, staff and friends. The events will honor the history of RUSH University and look forward to an exciting future.

On Friday, a variety of college-specific events will be held, including welcome receptions and donor recognition gatherings. On Saturday, University alumni will come together for multiple events including:

  • Student-led campus tours
  • 50th anniversary panel moderated by Larry Goodman, MD, RUSH University interim president
  • “Looking Forward,” an update from Dr. Omar Lateef, President and CEO of Rush University System for Health and RUSH University Medical Center
  • Individual college breakout sessions
  • RUSH All Alumni Weekend Group Outing with the Chicago Bulls

The weekend will conclude with an All RUSH 50th Anniversary Celebratory Reception at Malcolm X College. All RUSH alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends are invited to this culminating event of the weekend. To celebrate this monumental milestone with the RUSH community, the reception will feature remarks from Dr. Goodman and Malcolm X President David A. Sanders, highlights from the RUSH University Medical Center Archives, student research trainee poster presentations, signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dancing.
