Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush Copley Medical Center are all recognized in Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026.
The list, compiled by Newsweek in partnership with global market research firm Statista, provides rankings to help patients looking for high-quality specialized care. This year, the list focused on seven specialty areas and recognized 1,375 hospitals that consistently deliver world-class clinical outcomes.
The top 200 hospitals were recognized in each of six specialty areas: cancer care, cardiac care, endocrine care, neurological care, orthopedic care and pulmonary care. For a seventh specialty area, gastrointestinal care, the top 175 hospitals were honored.
Rush University Medical Center was recognized in all seven areas. In five of those areas, Rush was acknowledged for standout specialties:
- Cancer care: Breast cancer and colon and rectal cancer
- Cardiac care: Coronary artery disease and heart bypass surgery
- Gastrointestinal care: Advanced endoscopy
- Neurological care: Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease
- Orthopedic care: ACL reconstruction surgery, hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, nonsurgical orthopedic treatments and shoulder replacement surgery
Rush Oak Park Hospital was ranked for endocrine care and Rush Copley Medical Center was ranked as one of the top 200 hospitals in the country for pulmonary care.
The rankings were determined using four data sources: hospital quality metrics, which included data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Leapfrog Group; a nationwide online survey; results from patient experience surveys; and a patient-reported outcome measures implementation survey by Statista.
