Rush Copley Names New Chief Nursing Officer

Rush Copley Medical Center is pleased to announce Abby Hornbogen, MBA, MS, RN, NE-BC, as Vice President, Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Aurora, IL – Rush Copley Medical Center is pleased to announce Abby Hornbogen, MBA, MS, RN, NE-BC, as Vice President, Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

An adaptive leader with more than 20 years of progressive health care leadership experience, Hornbogen will lead more than 750 nurses at the medical center and has executive leadership of critical care, orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, women’s health, perioperative services, therapy services, cancer care, spiritual care and nursing professional practice. Prior to joining Rush Copley, Hornbogen served in nursing and operational leadership roles with oversight of strategic program development and clinical operations. She began her career as a labor and delivery nurse.

Hornbogen earned a baccalaureate degree in nursing from University of Illinois-Chicago and a Master of Science degree in health care administration as well as an MBA from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is a member of the American Organization of Nursing Leadership and serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Joliet Area YMCA.
