About Rush Copley Alternative Birth Suite

• Area's only alternative birth suite: Rush Copley Medical Center offers the Fox Valley's first and only alternative birth suite to support your natural birth plan. Our alternative birth suite is located in the Family Birth Center if you or your baby need additional care while you labor and deliver. 
• Home-like setting for natural birth: The alternative birth suite provides a large heated tub and shower to ease your birthing discomfort. Our large room also includes a queen-size bed so you and your partner can bond with your baby after birth. 
• Special laboring items and equipment: Our suite includes a birthing sling and a birthing seat, both which use gravity to encourage the descent of your baby during labor. We also offer aromatherapy, birthing and peanut balls, and heating packs to make your labor more comfortable. 
• Steps away from sophisticated technology: Should you or your baby need additional assistance, you'll have all of the resources of a premier hospital. Rush Copley also offers the area's only level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
