Lina Modestas is a recreation technician at the Alzheimer’s Family Care Center (AFCC) in Chicago. She has been employed there since May 2006. Her main job responsibilities include: developing, organizing and leading therapeutic group activities on a daily basis which focus on utilizing the clients’ strengths and abilities as well as enhancing their well-being. She works with staff to assess, evaluate and support the clients’ needs and assists with Dementia Care training.
She received her bachelor’s of science degree in psychology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 1995. Prior to her employment at the AFCC, she was the Dementia Unit Coordinator at the Methodist Home in Chicago.
