Polyp Removal Research Study

The goal of the study is to find ways to improve the method by which we remove polyps. We are comparing two different ways – cold snare and jumbo forceps.

In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:

• Are scheduled for a colonoscopy at Rush University Medical Center or Rush Oak Park Hospital for screening or surveillance purposes.
• Are over the age of 40.

You will be excluded from the study if any of the following criteria apply to you:

• Are currently on an anticoagulant/blood thinner.
• Have a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
• Have a personal history of colorectal cancer (CRC).
