The Rush Approach to Addiction Care
If you are concerned about the role that a substance or behavior is taking in your life, we can help. At Rush, we meet people where they are and take a harm reduction approach to care — or help with limiting your risk, even if you're not ready to quit.
At your first appointment, we’ll talk about how a substance or behavior may affect your life and create a treatment plan based on your needs and goals. Together, we’ll find the approach that works best for you.
Treatments may include medications, individual or group therapy, or other options that will help you:
- Recover — whether that means getting sober or getting better at controlling your impulses
- Prevent relapses — and cope with them if they happen
- Access treatment for other conditions related to your addiction
- Connect with the resources you need to live a full life
It’s never too early or too late to get support. If you’re not sure whether the addiction care is right for you, our nurse navigator can talk through your options and help connect you with the resources that fit your needs. Call Tara Wilkes, RN, today at (312) 563-0130.
Choosing Rush for Addiction Care
- Care for everyone — no matter where you are on your journey: Our experts can help determine the treatment options most likely to work for you, right now. This can include harm reduction — or help with limiting your risk, even if you're not ready to quit.
- Short- or long-term options: If you just want one appointment to ask us questions about your substance use, we're happy to talk. If you need longer-term treatment — such as therapy, medication management or a combination — we're here for you.
- Care for related conditions: Substance misuse is sometimes a sign of an underlying problem. For example, a person might drink too much because they're anxious or because they have trouble sleeping. Experts at Rush can get to the bottom of any related conditions and help you find the right treatment.
