Chicago — Connecting with patients sometimes means meeting them where they are in their daily life, at home, on the road, or even in the grocery store. Rush University System for Health (Rush) recently announced an expanded relationship with Higi, a consumer health services company, to make more of these connections and improve health in the Chicago area.
Starting Dec. 16, 2019, Rush messaging and health information became available at more than 200 Higi stations in Jewel-Osco, Mariano's and Meijer stores throughout the Chicago area.
Higi Smart Health Stations enable consumers to measure, track and act on their health data at no cost to them. The free screenings available include self-service measurement of blood pressure, pulse, weight, body mass index and risk for the development of type 2 diabetes. Stations also provide educational content and digital health content, enabling consumers to connect to the care resources that matter to them, now including Rush.
Consumers who use a station in the Chicago market now will see Rush messaging on the upper screen of the station, an educational heart health video that plays during the blood pressure test, and collaborative messaging in follow up and test result communications. Over time, Rush and Higi will be working together to develop strategic programs to help Rush identify and connect with at-risk patients as well as deliver personalized content to help each individual consumer improve their health.
“Our partnership with Higi creates a new way for consumers to gain an understanding of how Rush can help them meet their health goals, especially if they aren’t quite sure where to begin” said Dr. Ranga Krishnan, CEO of Rush. “Higi’s latest offerings will allow us to better understand the health status of our community members, so we can anticipate and meet their health needs.
“As our partnership and programs evolve, we’ll offer more tailored programs and content that further engage consumers in their health, guiding them to the resources within Rush that will support their long-term well-being.”
“We see so much potential in our partnership with Rush and are incredibly excited for this first phase of the partnership to begin,” says Higi CEO Jeff Bennett. “Together, we’ll be able to make a true impact on the health of Chicagoans by identifying issues earlier and getting them to the care they need, be it at their local pharmacy or with a physician at Rush.”
