For the third consecutive year, Rush Oak Park Hospital was among a select number of hospitals across the nation to receive top honors for patient safety excellence by Healthgrades, a leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals that assesses more than 4,500 hospitals in the United States. Rush Oak Park Hospital was among only 456 hospitals in the nation to achieve the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award.
The award recognizes hospitals for excellent performance from 2016 to 2018 in 13 patient safety indicators as defined by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality for patients in the Medicare population. Rush Oak Park Hospital is considered among the top in the nation for providing excellence in patient safety by preventing infections, medical errors, and other preventable complications.

The Patient Safety Excellence Award comes on the heels of Rush Oak Park Hospital receiving ‘A’ grades for safety, the highest possible, from the Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit patient safety watchdog organization. Rush Oak Park Hospital received its ninth consecutive A and 11th overall.
