Social Cognition Training

Social Cognition Training (SCT) is a computerized program available online. It was designed to engage the neural networks that support social cognition. It consists of exercises that target a range of social cognition skills, including visual and vocal affect perception, social cue perception, and theory of mind. Training exercises were designed in accordance with the principles of neuroplasticity, meaning they are adaptive and engaging (i.e., become easier or more difficult depending on the trainee’s performance) and re-enforcing (trainees earn badges for answering questions correctly). Participants also receive feedback after each trial and at the end of each session.

In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:

• Have been diagnosed with Huntington’s disease (HD) based on genetic testing.
• Are 18 years of age or older.
• Are a native English speaker who is literate in English.
• Have had no medication changes in the past 4 weeks that would significantly impact your cognition as determined by the investigator team.
• Have an MOCA >18.

You will be excluded from the study if any of the following criteria apply to you:

• Have any known neurological condition (other than HD).
• Have a history of learning and/or intellectual disabilities.
• Are currently actively involved in any other interventional trial (i.e. have begun the intervention) or are within 4 weeks of completing the final assessments of an interventional trial.
• Are currently regularly completing a computerized cognitive training intervention.
• Have active suicidal ideation with some intent.
