'I feel part of a special community that is making a difference.'
Most people are surprised by my job because they don't know that there's much more to women's breast health than just getting a mammogram.
Jennifer's job is to counsel patients about factors that put them at higher risk for breast cancer.
"Most people are surprised by my job because they don't know that there's much more to women's breast health than just getting a mammogram," Jennifer says.
"When I explain that we offer a comprehensive breast program based on an individual's risk factors, it usually leads people to ask more questions," she says. "I love to educate people on how best to care for themselves, to let them know about additional testing options available and to encourage them to take charge of their health and wellness."
Jennifer joined the team at Rush Copley in 2019, a year after finishing her post-master's family nurse practitioner certificate. All told she has 23 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse committed to delivering high quality, culturally competent care to a wide variety of patients with diverse needs.
"I love working at Rush because I feel part of a special community that is making a difference," Jennifer says. "I get to come to work every day and know that everyone here is on the same team, has the same goals and wants to do their best because that's what creates the best experience for our patients."
