'At Rush, you can really make a difference in patient care.'
From my first day on the job, I was impressed by how much of a voice nurses have at Rush.
Claire Florence has been on the Rush team for three years. Now an ambulatory RN 2 at Rush South Loop in allergy and immunology, she has also worked in a pediatrics clinic. Before coming to Rush, she worked as a school nurse.
"From my first day on the job I was impressed by how much of a voice nurses have at Rush," Claire says. "You can really make a difference in patient care."
One of the things that drew Claire to Rush is its longstanding commitment to the community. She distinctly remembers her orientation to Rush, when then CEO Larry Goodman, MD, spoke about Rush's commitment not just to public health but also to the vitality of local businesses, educational institutions and community organizations. "That made a big impression on me," she says.
Claire is pleased to work at one of Rush's major off-site locations, Rush South Loop. "I like that Rush is expanding — and this is a great location," she says. She notes that Rush's South Loop offices greatly expand neighborhood residents' access to high-quality health care: primary care, specialty care and a range of imaging, laboratory and testing services.
