Video Visits for Weight Management

Rush Center for Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery now offers follow-up video visits with Naomi Parrella, MD, as a convenient option when coming into the office may be difficult. Video visits are secure, private one-on-one visits that use streaming video to connect with your provider.

Costs for video visits

We offer video visits for a self-pay fee of $90 per visit. Although this visit is not reimbursable by insurance, Health Savings Accounts can be used.

Who is eligible

Participation in video visits requires all of the following:

  • You must be a current patient of the Center for Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery.
  • Access to a home computer, laptop or smart device with high-speed internet or Wi-Fi connection, working web camera and microphone. Note: When using a smart device for your appointment, you will need to download the My Rush app in advance.
  • A working home scale. Any scale will work but we recommend a smart scale such as the Whitings body+ scale. A Bluetooth-enabled smart scale will automatically upload statistics (including BMI) to your provider and MyChart, making it easy to track detailed results.

Video follow-up scheduling

If you’re interested in video follow-ups, ask about it during your next visit. You can also send a message to Dr. Parrella’s team via MyChart or the My Rush mobile app (on Android or iPhone).
