Virginia Kriho is an assistant to the neuropathologist in the Rush Alzheimer Disease Core Center. She has been with the center since October 2003, coming to the position with over 25 years of microscopy experience in research at the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. Her responsibilities in the Core Center include gross examination of donated brain tissue for pathology and excising specific brain areas for microscopic examination in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and other neuropathological conditions. She is a participant in two ongoing federally funded studies, including the Religious Order Study and the Memory and Aging Project. She is a member of the Microscopy Society of American. She has 18 publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of neuroscience and has presented numerous abstracts at scientific meetings.
