PNS Accomplishments – Fiscal Year 2021


  • Increase Professional Nursing Staff (PNS) visibility and promote PNS through mindful rounding in each service line area
  • Restructure the Executive Committee and DACs to include all levels of nursing to ensure synergy, communication and action

Growth and Reach

  • Connect clinical nurses with PNS committees to promote professional growth, mentorship and innovation
  • Host PNS forums during meetings of the Executive Committee to increase the presence, awareness and engagement among the leadership and clinical nurses

Quality and Safety

  • Collaborate with the Safe Campus Steering Committee on initiatives that promote safety within the Rush University Medical Center
  • Maintain the Safe Campus Subgroup to aid in the early identification and prevention of problems through the utilization of the behavioral debriefing tool
