The RUSH Muscular Dystrophy Association Care Center Clinic

Providers at the Rush Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Care Center Clinic offer comprehensive, coordinated care for patients with muscular dystrophy (MD) and other neuromuscular diseases.

Patients with MD who are living longer and enjoying a greater quality of life nevertheless require complex care that is focused on preventing complications from muscular wasting, respiratory compromise and decreased mobility. Our care encompasses a broad range of specialties including neuromuscular medicine and pulmonology; genetic counseling; social work; speech, occupational and physical therapy; nutrition counseling and orthotics.

Rush also focuses on helping pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients seamlessly transition to adult care.

We provide our patients with the latest treatment options for neuromuscular diseases, including gene therapy for spinal muscular disease and enzyme replacement therapy for Pompe disease. In addition, we actively participate in clinical and drug trials that expand the available therapies for our patients.
