RUSH Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery Center

The Rush Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery Center is one of the nation’s premiere locations for the treatment of complex brain and spinal cord vascular diseases.

Our team of cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeons and neurologists collaborates with specialty neurologists, neuroradiologists, critical care clinicians and other specialists to provide patients with innovative, comprehensive and minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment solutions.

Why refer your patients here?

Nationally recognized care: Rush ranks No. 1 in the nation among 99 leading academic medical centers in the latest annual quality and accountability study conducted by Vizient Inc.

Largest volume of thrombectomies: Our center performs more mechanical thrombectomies for stroke than any hospital in the Chicago area. We are actively involved in numerous clinical trials for stroke patients, which allows us to potentially treat patients who would not be eligible to receive treatment elsewhere.

Sought-after endovascular care: We have a large elective endovascular volume, including active involvement in clinical trials for cerebral aneurysms, dural arteriovenous fistulas, pseudotumor cerebri and subdural hematomas.

Care that uses the latest technology: We are one of the only programs in Illinois, and one of the few medical centers in the country, offering Woven EndoBridge (WEB) Aneurysm Embolization System, the latest technology used to treat intracranial aneurysms.

We are also on the leading edge of radial access for cerebrovascular disease, with R. Webster Crowley, MD, and Rush performing the first procedure in the world using the RIST catheter, which is designed to perform neurointerventions through a small artery in the wrist.
