Even a pandemic couldn’t deter the families and friends who wanted to make “Presents for Patients” this year. The event went virtual, with five gift-making workshops held between December 7 and 16. Gifts included a holiday ornament, mini relaxation kit and holiday cards. Supplies were provided for each workshop and were available via curbside pickup.
Twenty people participated in the workshops. An additional highlight was the raffle of a $30 gift card donated by Brighton Collectibles at Fox Valley Mall.
“This was a challenging year, and it was important to spread some holiday cheer by getting creative and adapting this event to a virtual format,” said Michelle Zepeda, program coordinator at Waterford Place. “It was wonderful to see many familiar faces and the joy after they made a gift for their loved ones.”
