Current administrative fellows

Akkara Srauy earned her Master of Business Administration degree in health sector management from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During her graduate program, Akkara completed a summer internship at Temple University General Internal Medicine, working as a process improvement consultant looking at patient flow and practice management. She also worked on several health care technology projects during her time at Temple, including the development of two mobile health applications.   

Prior to entering graduate school, Akkara worked for several years in the film industry as a motion picture editor. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in film studies and her MFA in film production from the University of Southern California. During her administrative fellowship, Akkara is excited to further hone her interests in strategic development, process improvement, hospital operations and design.

Brandon Nelson earned his Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Missouri. During this time, Brandon worked as a graduate research assistant in the Center for Healthcare Quality in the University of Missouri Health System. At Missouri, Brandon worked on several projects related to quality and process improvement spanning across the health system.  hese experiences led him to pursue his Lean Six-Sigma Greenbelt as well as a graduate certificate in health informatics during his graduate career.

Prior to entering graduate school, Brandon received his undergraduate degrees in both psychology and management from the University of Iowa. While attending Iowa, he interned for the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics as well as the Johnson County Public Health Department. During his administrative fellowship, Brandon is excited to couple his background and skill set to projects at Rush involving process improvement, hospital operations, strategic planning and finance.
