Current Administrative Fellows

Sarah Brom

Sarah Brom earned her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in graduate school, Sarah completed her summer internship at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, North Carolina, where she broadened her health care administration knowledge working on projects including improving ED wait times by increasing utilization of the discharge unit. Her graduate coursework consisted of a variety of classes, including quality and process improvement and strategy.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. While there, she was heavily involved in her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, and the dance marathon program, IlliniThon, as well as volunteering at the local hospital. In her free time, she likes to read, travel and try new things, and do yoga.

Avianna Aguilar-Romero

Avianna earned her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in May 2023. While in the second year of graduate school, Avianna worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) in the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety department as a Graduate Administrative Intern. Avianna also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at UIC’s Institute for Health Research & Policy on the pediatric oral health CO-OP study.

During her time at Northwestern, Avianna’s focus was on Women’s Health. She created and implemented a social determinants of health (SDOH) screening tool for the obstetric private practices who did not have the Epic electronic medical record. It was important for her and the clinical quality team to ensure that more NMH patients were screened and provided with resources as necessary. Avianna served as a NMH representative at the Illinois Perinatal Quality of Cares annual conference and demonstrated the data on physicians offering 2-week postpartum visits.

Avianna attended The Ohio State University (OSU) where she received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences in May 2021. While at OSU, Avianna served on the College of Pharmacy’s Diversity & Inclusion board and she received the Morrill Scholar Distinction Award. Avianna was also involved in regularly volunteering at the Neighborhood Services Inc. food pantry. In her free time, Avianna enjoys reading, traveling, baking, painting, and spending time with her friends and family.
