Current administrative fellows

Alexander Benjamin earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and will receive his Masters of Science in Health Administration upon completion of his Administrative Fellowship. Alexander interned in the Finance Department at UAB where he worked on a number of projects including analyzing $10 million in faculty fund transactions and constructing financial projections. Alexander also volunteered in the Arts in Medicine program at UAB’s hospital.

Prior to entering graduate school, Alexander worked as a Program Assistant in the University of Utah’s Office of the Vice President of Health Sciences. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah in Biology. While attending the University of Utah, Alexander was a Resident Advisor, Peer Mentor for the Black Student Leadership Institute, and music volunteer at Primary Children’s Hospital. During his administrative fellowship, he is excited to further develop his interest in healthcare innovation, quality improvement, and community outreach. In his free time, Alexander enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee and expanding his culinary palate in Chicago. 

 

Nathan Simon earned his Master of Health Administration degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. During his graduate program, he worked as the financial manager for the CARES Clinic; an inter-professional student-run clinic for Charleston’s underserved community. Additionally, Nathan completed a summer internship at Emory Healthcare, where he worked on several projects including the development of a post-surgical care model and the creation of a pediatric to adult transplant transition clinic.

Prior to his graduate work, Nathan received his undergraduate degree in finance from Tulane University. He spent a summer working at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, where he developed his passion for the healthcare industry. During his administrative fellowship, Nathan is excited to continue to build the skills needed for his interests in clinical operations, process improvement, and ambulatory care. In his free time, Nathan is an avid sports fan and enjoys traveling.
