Cultural Identity and Metabolic Health
This is a study being conducted through the Department of Behavioral Sciences. It seeks to examine how culture/biculturalism may be related to physical health. In particular, it aims to delineate the pathways through which acculturative stressors affect ethnic health disparities in metabolic syndrome, as well as the influence of those stressors on emotional eating.
In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:
- Be 18 years old and above.
- Identify yourself as living in a bicultural context. (For example, see yourself as living in an environment where two cultures are present in your daily life and/or your identity.)
You will be excluded from the study if any of the following criteria apply to you:
- Are currently taking medications for heart disease or diabetes.
- Are pregnant.
This is a partial list of inclusion and exclusion criteria.
