Clinical Trial Protocol Description: 

We are seeking individuals who were violated, hurt, or exposed to violence as a child (before age 17).

These early experiences often cause people difficulties that affect their ability to manage stress. The purpose of this study is to test two health and wellness programs that aim to improve your ability to deal with stress. If you are eligible, you will be randomly assigned to one of the two interventions. Each intervention lasts 8 weeks; you will also be asked to come for follow-up appointments.

People who qualify will complete some questionnaires, interviews and laboratory tests. Participants will be compensated for their travel and for the research assessments.

Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria: 

In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:

  • Are at least 18 years of age.
  • Were violated, hurt, or exposed to violence as a child (before age 17).
  • Are currently having difficulty dealing with stress.
