SPECIMEN REQUIREMENTS:

4 mL blood (2.0 mL serum)

REJECTION CRITERIA: Excessive hemolysis, gross contamination of specimen, chylous serum,  inappropriate specimen container, insufficient specimen volume.
MINIMUM VOLUME: 2 mL blood (1 mL serum)
REFERENCE RANGE: No Hepatitis A IgM detected

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The test is IgM specific anti-HAV. The detection of IgM specific antibodies to Hepatitis A virus indicates a current or recent infection with Hepatitis A virus.
