Rush University Well-Represented in Latest U.S.News & World Report Graduate School Survey
 

(CHICAGO) — Rush University is well-represented in the 2014 edition of the America's Best Graduate Schools survey released March 12 by U.S.News & World Report. Seven programs in the Rush College of Nursing and two programs in the Rush University College of Health Sciences are ranked among the top 19 in the country. Rush is a top-ranked university with an exclusive health science focus.

The Rush College of Nursing is ranked 15th among 467 nursing colleges with graduate programs, and it is ranked in the top 20 in the nation in six nursing specialties:

  • Nursing Anesthesia - third (retained third place since 2007)
  • Adult/Medical Surgical Nursing - fourth (new to rankings since 2007)
  • Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing - fourth (up from sixth in 2007)
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - fifth (up from seventh in 2007)
  • Gerontological/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner - seventh (up from ninth in 2007)
  • Adult Nurse Practitioner - seventh (up from ninth in 2007)
  • Family Nurse Practitioner - 19th

The Rush College of Health Sciences earned placement in two disciplines:

  • Master’s in Health System Management – ninth (up from 25th since 2007)
  • Doctor of Audiology (AuD) - 10th

Additionally, Rush Medical College is ranked 64th in research. Rush University College of Health Sciences’ speech-language pathology program is ranked 29th, and its occupational therapy program is ranked 43rd.

Rush University is the academic component of Rush University Medical Center, a leading academic medical center. Rush University was founded in 1972 and has expanded from one college and fewer than 100 students to four colleges and an all-time high of 2,115 students this year. It includes Rush Medical College, the College of Nursing, the College of Health Sciences and The Graduate College. Rush University is known for its practitioner-teacher model, translational research, nurturing academic environment and focus on community and global health.
