| CHICAGO—The Division of Hematology and Oncology at Rush University Medical Center has opened a satellite clinic at the Rush Oak Park Hospital location. This collaborative effort will give patients living in the western suburbs the option of scheduling their office visits and transfusions closer to home.
The clinic is located in suite 5400 of the Rush Medical Office Building at 610 S. Maple Ave. in Oak Park and is open five days a week from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free valet parking is available to clinic patients for added convenience.
“We wanted to help patients who live in the western suburban community. Having a clinic in Oak Park will help patients with the challenges of commuting after having treatment,” said Dr. Philip D. Bonomi, director, Division of Hematology and Oncology.
The hematology and oncology satellite clinic at Rush Oak Park Hospital, which has five exam rooms and eight infusion bays, offers compassionate, multidisciplinary care for patients with chest tumors; breast cancer; gastrointestinal cancers; benign hematologic disorders, including coagulation and thrombosis; and malignant hematologic disorders, including leukemias, lymphomas and myelomas.
“It’s ideal to have a treatment clinic closer to home. Now we can offer that to our patients and possibly reach out to those who have similar concerns,” said Dr. Parameswaran Venugopal, associate director, Division of Hematology and Oncology.
The following specialists from Rush University Medical Center now have clinic days at Rush Oak Park Hospital:
- Dr. Gerry Bohac, gastrointestinal cancers
