| Rush University Medical Center is offering a free community event, “From Heartburn to Esophageal Cancer: What You Need to Know,” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. The program will be held on the Rush campus in room 994 in the Armour Academic Center located at 600 S. Paulina, Chicago.
The event will provide health information on how to lower your risk for developing esophageal cancer and the latest treatments available. Featured speakers include Dr. Michael Brown, gastroenterology, Dr. Gerry Bohac, medical oncology and Dr. Michael Liptay, thoracic surgery. Experts from Rush will be available to answer questions about untreated heartburn, esophageal cancer and ways to prevent and treat the disease.
