Division of General Internal Medicine

An internal medicine specialist, or internist, is your partner in helping you stay healthy or manage chronic conditions. An internist, also known as a primary care physician, sees patients over the age of 18.

Internists work with you to help you achieve or maintain good health. They are also adept at managing complex, chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure or acute conditions such as back pain or respiratory infections.

In addition, they collaborate with experts throughout Rush University Medical Center to connect you with specialized care when needed.
