Rush offers homelike settings for childbirth, as well as two operating rooms equipped for cesarean section births and for emergency procedures. Facilities include 39 bassinets for healthy newborns and a 40-bed neonatal intensive care unit. Services for expectant families include a full range of classes designed to help parents-to-be prepare for the birth of a new baby. Courses cover such topics as childbirth education, CPR for infants and children, breastfeeding, cesarean birth and multiple births.
