All Rush Behavioral Health youth treatment programs are designed to help youth with problematic use of alcohol and other drugs to achieve abstinence and to obtain freedom from the harmful consequences of substance abuse. The program goal is to help the adolescents and their families develop effective relationships that result in healthy functioning at school, the workplace, within the family unit, and in peer relationships.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
These programs meet after school (late afternoon or early evening) for three- to four-hour sessions three to four times per week. They are designed for youth who are able to maintain adequate functioning in school and community, and who have a supportive family environment. IOP programs are available at Palos Heights, Downers Grove, Lake Forest, and Northwest Community Hospital.
Partial Hospital Program (PHP)
This level of care is designed for the adolescent who has difficulty maintaining abstinence and functioning successfully at school. The program sessions are eight to ten hours per day five to six days per week. The program involves daily school work as well as a full structure of therapeutic activities. This level of care is only available at the Youth Center at Northwest Community Hospital.
Residential (Inpatient) Treatment
This level of care is designed for the adolescent who has difficulty stopping drug use in outpatient treatment, and who needs a 24-hour/7-days-per-week supportive structured environment to develop a new peer group and learn a drug-free lifestyle. The residential program is at the Youth Center of Northwest Community Hospital.
