Program Description Rush Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment programs for children with hematologic and oncologic disorders. Our staff includes some of the nation’s foremost experts in the treatment of pediatric blood disorders and cancers. To provide the very best care for children, physicians in the Section of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology work collaboratively with physicians throughout Rush University Medical Center, including experts in orthopedic oncology, pediatric surgery and bone marrow transplant.
Services Provided
We offer the following programs to help your child:
- Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Treatment Center: This federally funded center offers comprehensive treatment for children and adults with hemophilia, von Willebrand disease and other bleeding disorders, as well as a wide range of clotting disorders.
- Sickle Cell Disease Program: This program provides care for children with sickle cell disease and thallasemias.
- Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Program and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Disease Program: These programs provide diagnostic, consultative services and disease management for the entire spectrum of solid tumors, leukemia and lymphoma.
In collaboration with the Bone Marrow Treatment Program, we also provide care for children and adolescents receiving high-dose therapy and stem cell transplantation. Rush has the only transplant program in Illinois certified by the National Marrow Donor Program to perform unrelated donor marrow transplantation. Rush also performs peripheral blood and umbilical cord stem cell transplant for a variety of malignant and nonmalignant disorders.
In addition to the three locations below, we see patients at offices at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
