Our practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality primary and consultative care for older adults. Our entire staff shares a philosophy regarding the importance of comprehensive, coordinated patient- and family-centered care. Collaboration among patients, families and staff is the cornerstone of our holistic approach.
We recognize that there may be challenges associated with the modern health care system, so we are committed to guiding our patients and their families through the system in a trouble-free manner. Everyone needs an “orchestra leader” to coordinate the various elements of health care. Geriatricians do exactly that.
We offer a full range of primary care and consultative services for older adults. Our services begin with a detailed assessment, during which we diagnose any medical conditions or nonmedical problems that may cause you concern or affect your independence. Once we pinpoint the problem, we coordinate and implement the services needed to manage or treat it, mapping out an individually tailored plan that emphasizes as much person control as possible. Through coordination of home care services and community agencies, we strive to help clients maintain independence in their own homes and communities.
Martin J. Gorbien, MD, FACP, is medical director of Rush University Senior Care and director of the Section of Geriatric Medicine at Rush. Our physicians devote all of their practice time to the care of older adults. The members of our faculty practice are involved in research, teaching community outreach and administrative activities that enhance clinical care, as well as a variety of activities on the local and national levels. Our collaborative relationships within the Rush system and our rich variety of resources help place us at the vanguard of geriatric care in Chicago and the nation.
