Charles F. McKiel Jr., MD, is a professor of urology at Rush University Medical Center and program director of the Department of Urology. As a clinician and researcher at Rush University Medical Center for more than 50 years, McKiel is a recognized leader in urology. His specialty areas include benign prostatic hyperplasia, bladder cancer and prostate cancer. McKiel’s clinical expertise includes cryosurgery, kidney-sparing surgery and minimally invasive procedures. He has contributed more than 80 articles and abstracts to numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.
Throughout his career, McKiel has been active in many professional organizations. He has been the president of the American Urological Association, and he has been a member of the Board of Governors for the American College of Surgeons for 25 years. He is a member of the Chicago Urological Society, Illinois Medical Society, American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, North Central Section of the American Urological Association, American Urological Association, American Association of Clinical Urologists, American Fertility Society, United States Section Societe Internationale D'Urologie, Royal Society of Medicine, Society of University Urologists, International Society of Urologic Endoscopy and Society of Urologic Oncology.
